Money And Happiness Do Not Always Go Hand In Hand

Money and happiness do not always go hand in hand

Money and happiness do not always go hand in hand, and more and more research seems to strengthen this.

Imma Puig has a degree in clinical psychology and is a teacher in the human resources department at the business school IESE. What really put her on the map, however, is that she has helped the players of FC Barcelona for 15 years.

And this has led to her saying something very interesting. She says that despite their large paychecks , they are going  through the same highs and lows as the rest of us. Money and happiness do not go hand in hand.

During her time with players like Iniesta, Messi and Suarez, she has been surrounded by people who in one year earn what we mortals earn in a lifetime. But she also realized that the balance in the bank does not help us deal with emotions.

To see how much happens to people in their relationships, you have to get to know them. And it’s a job that can be compared to climbing a mountain. There are two paths: one long but easy and one short but difficult.

Jealousy, envy, anger and sorrow affect both the rich and the poor. We need to understand personal relationships, emotional control and progress if we want to see the bigger picture.

Success is not happiness

Money and happiness do not always go hand in hand

We live in a society where there may always be people for whom it is “fantastic”. We love to project an artificial image of ourselves that defies all emotional logic.

It is basically impossible to be incredibly successful in finance, beauty, health and love at the same time. False happiness is the saddest thing there is. The link between money and happiness is often a myth.

Many people go into therapy because they feel sad even though everything seems to be going well. They feel a void in their lives and do not know where it comes from. Many are unaware that grief is a part of life.

Grief has survived thousands of years of evolution because it serves an important purpose.

On the other hand, there are people who do not have a perfect life by anyone’s standard and do not have much in the bank. But still, they do not feel this emptiness that others are talking about.

There is no one on Earth, no matter how much money the person has, who can always be happy and free from problems. It is often the exact opposite. The more money you have, the more problems they cause.

From this point of view, true success may consist of achieving what you really want, and the happiness of wanting to achieve what you are trying to achieve. The link between money and happiness is a fragile one.

The key to happiness

Emotions are not linked to the balance in our account

Do not get me wrong, money in the bank can definitely help. But the truth is that most people would prefer love over money every day of the week as long as their basic needs are met.

Money and happiness? Rather money  or  happiness in many cases.

There are people who always seem to live on the crest of the wave, and we admire these successful people. But they also go through difficult situations, such as losses of loved ones.

Successful people are also sad, lonely, discouraged and depressed.

We can not link our emotions to our bank balance just as we can not  link money to happiness.

All that is required is to look at people with wealth to see that it does not protect them from psychological and relational problems. The number of celebrities with problems is actually large.

It is easy to see that the idea that fame and money lead to happiness if we look at how many well-known people suffer from depression and similar diseases.

Having the  bank account many people dream of does not come with emotional balance. In many cases, it leads to the opposite: total emotional instability.
